Your AH&P Account

SETTING UP YOUR ACCOUNT

Your heat is supplied by Aberdeen Heat & Power and you need to contact us to register and set up your account.

You can contact us as follows;

BILLING

You will be billed based on the heat you use, via a budget payment option. This is the most common way that people pay for the fuel bills.

The Budget payment scheme is where we bill you annually in advance and collect a fixed amount each week or month to pay for this. The bill will normally be based on your actual consumption for the year before, and you make agreed regular payments over the year to meet this cost. Please note, in your first year, you will be billed on the expected consumption based on the size of your property. If you find that you are using significantly more or less heat than we have estimated, please contact us and we will review your weekly/monthly payment accordingly.

We will issue a bi-annual statement of your heat account. The heating cost and your payments will be reviewed annually.

You can arrange your fixed, weekly or monthly, payments when you set up your account with us. Direct Debit is the simplest and most common option. However, there are alternative options, if you prefer not to use Direct Debit (see below).

For any queries or issues relating to your bills or payments, or general questions about your heating, please contact Aberdeen Heat & Power.

METER READINGS

We are able to read your meters remotely, so there should be no estimated bills.

If you can, we recommend that you check your meter reading when you receive your statements, and periodically throughout the year. The meter is housed under the flap on the HIU.

To read your heat meter, record all numbers from left to right, including any numbers which fall after the decimal point, from the first digit, to the MWh indicator.
